BookKeeper (full time) – Home Working based in Poole or Bournemouth.

We are a busy professional BookKeeping company based in Poole and are looking for an experienced BookKeeper to join our existing team on a work from home basis.

Your day to day duties will include data entry of Invoices, receipts, remittances, cheques etc In to Sage 50 Accounts and various other accounting packages such as Xero, reconciliation of bank accounts & credit cards.  Dealing with payroll journals and any other month end journals as each clients required. Producing management accounts where required. The balancing of intercompany loans and possibly some credit control.

You will be responsible for filing of your own generated paperwork, answering the telephone and also dealing with customer queries. There will be a need to pick up paperwork from clients as required.

This is not a junior role and requires independent, methodical self - disciplined working as 99% of the work is based at home. The suitable candidate must be able to think on their feet, and mentally adapt quickly to the constant challenges of jigsaw building style bookkeeping. You must be able to work on your own initiative but good communication is also essential as we are a team.

This role would suit a person who constantly loves a challenge, and who finds themselves changing bookkeeping roles frequently striving for more of a challenge in their next role.

Experience of Payroll, CIS, Quickbooks or Xero would be an advantage but not essential.

Training/assistance will be given where required but this person must have a very good bookkeeping foundation as this is a demanding role but for the right person it is also a rewarding position.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00

Our requirements:

It is imperative that you have:

  • A proven record of hands on experience of BookKeeping in general
  • A proven record of good hands on experience of Sage 50 Accounts
  • Basic PC knowledge (Email (ideally Microsoft Outlook), Spreadsheet (ideally Microsoft Excel) and Word Processing (ideally Microsoft Word))
  • Good attention to detail
  • A full driving license and your own vehicle as travel to customer sites is required at times and can also be without warning.
  • A good sense of humour

You must be

  • Friendly and have good communication skills to fit in to our existing team
  • Flexible and have the ability to learn and adapt quickly due to constantly changing work spectrum.
  • A good listener
  • Able to work to specific guidelines, we provide written procedures which must be followed to ensure a high quality of work is always produced.

  • Hard working
